About The Position

The Armed Security Guard provides security services at assigned client sites during scheduled shifts, helping protect personnel, premises, and assets. This position is based in Springfield, Illinois, and involves floating between three properties. Shifts, site assignments, and hours may change according to client needs, staffing requirements, call-offs, and contract adjustments. Flexibility is essential, including availability for additional shifts and on-call or emergency coverage. Guards conduct patrols, monitor surveillance equipment, follow client security protocols, document and report incidents, and maintain professional interactions with clients, visitors, and staff. The position is part-time and pays $18–$20.

Requirements

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid firearms license or certification.
• Active PERC and FOID cards.
• Must own a firearm with a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at assigned client sites to help ensure the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
• Be available to work various shifts and at different client sites as needed; schedules and locations may change based on operational needs.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with clients, visitors, and staff, fostering a positive and secure environment.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor surveillance equipment while following client security protocols.
• Accurately document incidents, security breaches, or irregularities and promptly report them to appropriate personnel.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Silver Star leadership team.
• Work additional shifts, including on-call or emergency coverage, when needed.
