About The Position

The Armed Security Guard provides security services at assigned client sites during scheduled shifts, helping protect personnel, premises, and assets. The posted location is Chicago, Illinois, with a listed schedule of Monday 4:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., Tuesday 5:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m., Wednesday 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Friday 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 p.m.–2:00 p.m. The position is full-time. Schedules, site assignments, and hours may change based on client needs, staffing requirements, call-offs, and contract adjustments. Flexibility is essential, including availability for additional shifts, on-call work, or emergency coverage. The guard conducts patrols, monitors surveillance equipment, follows client security protocols, documents and reports incidents, and maintains professional communication with clients, visitors, and staff. Requirements

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid firearms license or certification.
Active PERC and FOID cards.
Own a firearm and a Level 2 retention holster or higher.
Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide security services at assigned client sites to ensure the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
Be available to work at various shifts and client sites as needed, with schedules and locations subject to operational changes.
Maintain professionalism in interactions with clients, visitors, and staff, fostering a positive and secure environment.
Conduct regular site patrols and monitor surveillance equipment in accordance with client security protocols.
Accurately document incidents, security breaches, and irregularities, and promptly report them to appropriate personnel.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Silver Star leadership team.
Work additional shifts, including on-call or emergency coverage, when needed.
