About The Position

The Armed Security Guard provides security services at client sites during scheduled shifts, helping protect personnel, premises, and assets. The position is based in Springfield, Illinois, and requires floating between three properties. Schedules, site assignments, and hours may change based on client needs, staffing requirements, call-offs, or contract adjustments. Flexibility is essential, including availability for additional shifts and on-call or emergency coverage. Guards conduct patrols, monitor surveillance equipment, follow client security protocols, document incidents, and report concerns to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid firearms license or certification.
• Active PERC and FOID cards.
• Must own a firearm and a level 2 retention holster or higher.
• Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services at assigned client sites to protect personnel, premises, and assets.
• Remain available to work various shifts and client sites as operational needs require.
• Maintain professionalism in interactions with clients, visitors, and staff.
• Conduct regular site patrols and monitor surveillance equipment in accordance with client security protocols.
• Accurately document incidents, security breaches, or irregularities and promptly report them to appropriate personnel.
• Work scheduled shifts and, when needed, additional shifts including on-call or emergency coverage.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Silver Star leadership team.
