About The Position

BL Companies is seeking a Senior Architect to contribute to impactful projects and mentor junior architects in a supportive, collaborative environment. The position leads the technical aspects of design and documentation across multiple projects, working closely with Senior Project Managers and other disciplines to deliver architectural services to clients. The role calls for strong project management, attention to detail, and the ability to guide project teams through technical design and documentation phases. BL Companies is a 100% employee-owned firm providing engineering, architecture, land surveying, and environmental consulting services to public and private sectors. It has 18 offices and is expanding. The company offers opportunities to work in a hybrid environment.

Requirements

15 or more years of experience in architectural production for commercial, retail, or industrial projects.
Proficiency in Revit.
Experience with construction documentation.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
A proactive mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

Professional registration (RA) is strongly preferred.
Experience with construction administration.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the technical design and production process from concept through construction.
Coordinate and oversee project teams to develop design solutions that meet client specifications, emphasizing detailing and constructability.
Serve as the technical authority and primary resource for project teams and clients.
Ensure quality assurance and control of construction documents, with a focus on detail accuracy and buildability.
Mentor and support junior staff through hands-on guidance and technical training.
Contribute to a collaborative project environment and uphold BL Companies' values of accountability, proactivity, and integrity.
