About The Position
Oracle Health is seeking a versatile Senior Application Software Engineer to work across platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, application development, integration services, and healthcare workflow solutions. The role bridges foundational cloud platforms and customer-facing healthcare applications, with work spanning the software development lifecycle. The position focuses on building reliable platforms and innovative applications that serve healthcare providers, patients, payers, and public health organizations. The engineer will develop scalable software solutions and cloud-native services, support healthcare applications and integrations, and build secure, highly available systems on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The role also involves cross-functional collaboration, technical leadership, system design, operational excellence, and modernization efforts involving cloud technologies, healthcare interoperability, and AI-driven capabilities. Oracle Health's initiatives include modernizing healthcare systems and advancing cloud-native EHRs, AI-enabled clinical workflows, interoperability, healthcare data platforms, and secure healthcare infrastructure.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering, application development, platform engineering, or related technical roles within a fast-paced technology environment.
- Strong experience developing enterprise-scale systems using Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, or other object-oriented programming languages.
- Experience developing enterprise software applications or cloud platforms.
- Strong programming and software design skills.
- Experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and cloud technologies.
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and engineering best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
- Ability to leverage modern AI-assisted development tools, including coding assistants and prompt-driven engineering workflows, to improve productivity and development efficiency.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions and cloud-native services.
- Build and support healthcare applications, APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities.
- Develop reliable, secure, and highly available systems running on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, operational teams, security teams, and customer teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
- Participate in system design, code reviews, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Contribute to automation, observability, security, and continuous delivery practices.
- Support modernization efforts leveraging cloud technologies, healthcare interoperability standards, and AI-driven capabilities.
- Drive engineering excellence through best practices, mentoring, and technical leadership.
- Participate in roadmap planning and technology modernization efforts.
- Contribute to innovation initiatives focused on AI, cloud, healthcare interoperability, and next-generation healthcare experiences.
