About The Position

McAfee is seeking a Senior Analyst, Tag Management & Tracking for its Customer Profile & Identity team within the Analytics Platform & Enablement organization. This is a hands-on technical role at the intersection of marketing, web engineering, and analytics. The position owns the tagging and tracking layer underlying marketing measurement, including the tag management system, data layer, campaign parameter framework, and third-party vendor tags and conversion APIs connecting mcafee.com to advertising, affiliate, and marketing platforms. The consumer web experience spans landing pages, cart, and checkout across more than 40 locales and uses Tealium iQ and EventStream, an Adobe standard digital data layer, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Customer Journey Analytics, and client-side and server-side vendor integrations. The role has end-to-end responsibility for tag governance, from intake and requirements through implementation, QA, ongoing validation, and retirement. It also governs campaign tracking specifications and the data layer, enables event and audience flows to analytics and other destinations, and leads investigation and resolution of tracking and attribution defects. The position supports website releases, migrations, redesigns, and experiments, while partnering with Privacy, Legal, and InfoSec to ensure tags comply with consent and privacy requirements. It reports to the Senior Manager of Customer Profile & Identity and works closely with Web Engineering, MarTech, Marketing, Data Engineering, Privacy/InfoSec, and external vendor and agency teams. This is a remote position based in the United States or Canada. Candidates must currently be authorized to work in the US or Canada. Relocation assistance is not offered.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in web analytics implementation, tag management, or marketing technology engineering.
  • Deep hands-on experience with an enterprise tag management system such as Tealium iQ, Adobe Experience Platform Tags/Launch, or Google Tag Manager, including load rules, extensions, variable mappings, and versioned promotion across development, QA, and production.
  • Fluency with data layers, including reading and debugging JavaScript data layer objects, defining required page data, and tracing values into tag payloads.
  • Strong working JavaScript and browser debugging skills, including DevTools, network beacon inspection, HAR capture, and tag debugger extensions.
  • Production experience implementing Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (eVars, props, events, AppMeasurement) or an equivalent enterprise analytics platform, including maintaining a solution design reference.
  • Experience implementing third-party advertising and affiliate tags and conversion APIs, and understanding click ID capture, deduplication, and conversion payload requirements.
  • Understanding of campaign tracking and attribution mechanics, including UTM and custom parameter frameworks, click ID persistence, channel and sub-channel taxonomy, and the reporting impacts of broken parameters.
  • Ability to build repeatable tracking validation and pre/post-release QA processes and automate them when needed.
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to query event and clickstream data to verify downstream collection.
  • Ability to own governance, manage tag request intake, enforce documented requirements with vendors, and communicate governance decisions to Marketing stakeholders.
  • Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences, including writing implementable tracking specifications and explaining measurement impact in business terms.
  • Experience working in agile environments with two-week sprints, balancing recurring release-validation work with project deliverables, and proactively communicating progress.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Tealium iQ and Tealium EventStream, including first-party domain collection and server-side event forwarding.
  • Experience with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Adobe Experience Platform, Web SDK, and XDM schema design.
  • Experience with a CDP or event-routing platform such as Hightouch, Segment, or mParticle and configuring downstream destinations.
  • Experience with Databricks or an equivalent lakehouse platform for validating clickstream and event data.
  • Experience with Python or Node.js for test automation, including headless browser validation, parameter comparison, and tag monitoring.
  • Experience with consent management and privacy compliance for web tags, including GDPR/CCPA, cookie banners, and consent-gated tag firing.
  • Experience supporting a high-volume consumer eCommerce or subscription business across multiple locales.
  • Experience with A/B testing and experimentation platforms and their instrumentation requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own third-party tag vendor governance and implementation, including request intake, review, approval, implementation, versioning, and retirement across the consumer web estate.
  • Maintain a governed inventory of active tags, documenting ownership, purpose, firing pages and locales, collected data, and consent requirements; identify and remove unnecessary tags.
  • Monitor tag health and validate business-as-usual tag collection after website and template releases; drive resolution of tags that stop firing or report incorrect values.
  • Define and govern URL campaign parameter and tracking frameworks, including campaign hierarchy, source and sub-channel codes, promo codes, price, affiliate IDs, and advertising platform click IDs.
  • Translate marketing measurement requirements into technical tracking specifications covering data layer fields, tag management variables, analytics dimensions and events, and vendor payloads.
  • Own the digitalData contract between the CMS/content layer and tag management system, define required fields and formats, and work with Web Engineering to resolve gaps, timing issues, and value transformation defects.
  • Configure and validate event and audience flows from web collection to analytics, CDP, customer engagement, and advertising destinations, including server-side conversion APIs and first-party domain collection.
  • Build and QA tag management changes across development, QA, and production environments; manage load rules, extensions, variable mappings, release governance, validation, UAT sign-off, and go-live monitoring.
  • Build and run repeatable tracking validation and QA processes using browser debugging, network beacon inspection, and automated validation, including headless browser scripting and pre/post-release checks.
  • Lead root cause analysis for tracking and attribution defects by tracing issues from source clicks through parameters, the data layer, tag management, and vendor beacons; quantify impact and document fixes with regression checks.
  • Support website migrations, redesigns, and A/B tests with tracking comparisons, go/no-go validation, and experiment instrumentation.
  • Partner with Privacy, Legal, and InfoSec to ensure tags respect consent management and cookie banner behavior, receive required privacy review, and collect only approved data.
  • Govern analytics variable allocation and maintain a solution design reference for dimensions and events, preventing duplicate use and making capacity available for new tracking needs.
  • Manage technical onboarding and implementation relationships with tag vendors and agencies, resolve integration issues, and hold vendors to documented requirements.
  • Maintain implementation guides, tracking specifications, release notes, and validation reports as reliable sources of truth for Marketing, Engineering, and Analytics.
