Senior AEO Marketing Director (Senior Account Director)

Foundation
•$120,000 - $145,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Foundation helps B2B tech and SaaS brands get found, cited and recommended when their buyers ask AI for solutions. We do it through Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): the research, content, distribution and optimization that build a brand's presence across LLMs, search, Reddit, YouTube and the sources they draw on. You own some of our most important enterprise relationships: a book built to $2–3M a year, anchored by at least one client worth $1M+. You're the senior strategic partner to the client's marketing leadership, often across several business units, and the reason the account stays and grows. This isn't a people-management role. You coach others and may guide an Associate AEO Marketing Director on your anchor account, but your impact is the strength, health and growth of your book. Some of these roles are tied to a city so you can work in person with key clients. On our enterprise accounts, AEO Marketing Directors own the client relationship, the strategic roadmap and the account's growth. AEO Program Directors lead the dedicated team that delivers the work, and work with the client every week alongside you.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of client-facing strategy or account leadership at an agency or consultancy.
  • Personal ownership of $1M+ enterprise relationships, including renewals and expansions you drove.
  • Presence with VP and C-level clients, and the strategic depth to advise them, not just report to them.
  • Strong command of B2B marketing channels and how AI search is changing buyer discovery.

Nice To Haves

  • Depth in one of our industries, such as financial services, higher education, or HR and payroll technology.

Responsibilities

  • The strategic roadmap for each account: priorities, the program, and how it ties to the client's revenue goals.
  • Executive relationships across the client: CMO, VPs and business-unit leaders, with regular in-person time where the client expects it.
  • Renewals and expansion across business units and channels, including complex, multi-line negotiations.
  • Book margin, with the AEO Program Director: scope, pricing and changes.
  • Enterprise pursuits in your industry, from pitch to signed contract to handover into delivery.
  • Account health. You spot risk early and lead the recovery.

Benefits

  • Base salary $120k–$145k depending on experience and location
  • Variable compensation: Target 20% of base, paid quarterly on your portfolio's book growth, margin and retention. Where you land in the range depends on experience. US ranges may be adjusted for cost of labor in your state. Benefits are on top of base.
