About The Position

Serving as the agency's primary technical expert and point of contact for records management, this position coordinates directly with the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to maintain legal compliance for all physical and electronic holdings.

Requirements

  • College degree required in Business, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related work experience.
  • At least 5 years of dedicated records management and FOIA processing experience.
  • Ability to physically lift and move a large volume of files and heavy storage boxes.
  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Records Management certificate/training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for NARA.
  • Maintain, review, and modify the Agency's Records Schedule annually to ensure strict alignment with NARA's General Records Schedule.
  • Maintain and organize documents within the electronic database.
  • Establish filing procedures, execute file structures, take inventories, and enforce quality control and file retention policies.
  • Conduct formal records briefings and complete certifications for all onboarding staff.
  • Conduct asset assessments and execute file management plans during exit interviews for offboarding personnel.
  • Partner with the Office of General Counsel to receive, track, and update requests within the agency database.
  • Coordinate responsive document collection, perform required PII/confidentiality redactions, and draft response letters.
  • Schedule and lead agency-wide Record Management Information file clean-up sessions twice per year, training staff on disposal and electronic archiving best practices.
