About The Position

We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will be actively involved in processing accounting transactions, preparing reconciliations, and compiling and analyzing financial reports. You will maintain the integrity of the general ledger and provide general accounting support to the Accounting Manager. This position will also have the opportunity to participate in ad hoc projects and the ideal candidate should have the ability to tackle multiple projects and efficiently execute deliverables. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize workload. The team needs a self-starter, who is able to work effectively, autonomously and drive projects with their team and work closely with other teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with various formulas including look-ups, pivot tables, and If statements
  • Understanding of general accounting procedures and impact on other areas of the business
  • Must be detail-oriented with a high standard of accuracy and precision with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable in working with individuals at all organizational levels over in multiple departments
  • Must show initiative and have strong problem-solving skills with a strong sense of accountability
  • Likes to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Exemplary time management and organizational levels
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask between projects
  • Hands on experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements

Nice To Haves

  • Audit experience at Big 4 or mid-size firm, or experience at an equivalent company that is fast paced preferred
  • Experience in a mix of industries or Retail/Consumer products preferred
  • Experience with Oracle R12 preferred
  • CPA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries and underlying analysis for various accounting areas, such as accrued expenses, fixed assets and related depreciation, payroll, deposit/prepaid amortization, and cash, to support the month-end close process
  • Competent knowledge of FASB requirements, accounting principles, tax reporting, and practices. Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles with a robust understanding of internal control principles
  • Perform ad hoc research and analysis on various areas of accounting issues in support of special projects or requests from business areas
  • Review new contracts and determine accounting implications
  • Prepare royalty schedules and distribute royalty statements and payments in accordance with contracts
  • Prepare and analyze Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Cash Flow Statements on multiple product lines and research unexpected variances
  • Prepare various deliverables to support the preparation of the financial statements and/or requests for information from all business functions
  • Prepare schedules and reconcile various Balance Sheet accounts as needed
  • Compile analysis/reports for the annual audit, tax return preparation or other audits
  • Verify and conduct due diligence for new or changes in vendor set ups and banking information to confirm authenticity and mitigate fraud risk
