The mission is to rewrite the script on traditional corporate accounting, seeking a tech-forward financial mind who views artificial intelligence as their ultimate co-pilot. This role is for someone obsessed with efficiency, loves prompt engineering as much as pivot tables, and wants to own both core general ledger accounting and critical tax functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of solid tax / accounting experience
  • Proven curiosity and hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (prompt engineering, LLMs) to accelerate tax research, streamline operational workflows, and enhance efficiency.
  • A sharp eye for detail capable of spotting data anomalies that machines miss.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex tax and financial data into clear explanations for the broader leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with our third-party professional services firm to facilitate the annual tax provision and independently review quarterly provisions to ensure accuracy.
  • Sync all tax accounts on the general ledger with corporate tax provisions.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to clearly explain tax account movements to leadership.
  • Calculate and manage federal and state estimated tax payments to optimize cash flow and ensure compliance.
  • Act as the internal administrator for Avalara sales tax software and perform comprehensive quarterly sales tax reconciliations.
  • Take the lead on researching and resolving tax notices from state, city, and overseas authorities.
  • Manage online portals for all subsidiaries to move our tax function from reactive to proactive.
  • Assist with month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis as needed.
  • Utilize LLMs (like Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude) to draft financial narratives, analyze variances, automate data categorization, and write script macros to optimize everyday workflows.
  • Continually research, test, and integrate new AI-native accounting and tax tools to automate manual, repetitive tasks.
