About The Position

The Senior Account Executive, Investment Sales supports Alumni Ventures’ growth by converting prospective investors into first-time investors and establishing the foundation for long-term relationships. Reporting to the EVP of Nurture Marketing within the Investor Conversion Pillar, this role owns inbound and warm prospect conversations from qualification through close. This is a solution-selling role focused on understanding each prospect’s goals for venture exposure and connecting those needs to an appropriate Alumni Ventures offering, which may include a syndicate deal, Alumni Fund, Focused Fund, or Foundation Fund. The primary objective is zero-to-one conversion: helping a new prospect make a first AV investment while building trust and understanding that the Relationship Management team can develop into a long-term relationship. The role is based in Alumni Ventures’ five-day-a-week, in-office culture, where collaboration, mentorship, and shared momentum are emphasized. Compensation includes base salary, incentive compensation, equity, and a corporate bonus. Employment is subject to passing a background check.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a closing sales role; financial services, investment products, or other high-consideration, relationship-driven sales experience is ideal.

  • Ability to listen before recommending, diagnose prospect needs, and adapt to different motivations, experience levels, and buying signals.
  • Ability to adjust in real time when conversations take an unexpected direction rather than relying on a prescribed script.
  • Ability to learn and speak credibly about venture capital, fund structures, and portfolio construction, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop fluency in complex products.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of prospect conversations while maintaining call quality, accurate documentation, and follow-through.
  • Comfort receiving specific coaching based on call recordings and performance data and applying that feedback.
  • Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM for pipeline management, call documentation, and follow-up.
  • Active use of AI tools to improve prospect research, call preparation, and follow-up, while applying independent judgment.
