Senior Investment Sales Executive

Alumni Ventures•Manchester, NH

About The Position

The Senior Investment Sales Executive supports Alumni Ventures’ growth by converting prospective investors into first-time investors and building the foundation for long-term relationships. Reporting to the EVP of Nurture Marketing within the Investor Conversion Pillar, this role owns inbound and warm prospect conversations from qualification through close. It involves understanding each prospect’s motivations and goals for venture exposure, then matching them with an appropriate offering, such as a syndicate deal, Alumni Fund, Focused Fund, or Foundation Fund. The role prioritizes first-time investment conversion while establishing trust for the Relationship Management team to continue developing the investor relationship. This is a solution-selling role rather than a scripted sales position. Alumni Ventures works in a five-day-a-week, in-office culture.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a closing sales role.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to build trust, sustain engagement, and guide nuanced conversations over the phone.
  • Ability to diagnose prospect needs, listen before recommending, and tailor an approach to different motivations, experience levels, and buying signals.
  • Ability to adapt in real time when conversations take an unexpected direction.
  • Ability to learn and speak credibly about venture capital, fund structures, and portfolio construction, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop fluency in complex products.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of prospect conversations while maintaining call quality, accurate documentation, and follow-through.
  • Comfort receiving specific coaching based on call recordings and performance data and applying that feedback.
  • Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM for pipeline management, call documentation, and follow-up.
  • Active use of AI tools to improve prospect research, call preparation, and follow-up while applying independent judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in financial services, investment products, or another high-consideration, relationship-driven sale.
  • Experience selling to retail or high-net-worth accredited investors.
  • Familiarity with syndications, SPVs, or other alternative investment products.
