About The Position

Alumni Ventures is hiring a Senior Investment Sales Executive to convert prospective investors into first-time investors and establish the foundation for long-term relationships. The role is part of the Investor Conversion Pillar and reports to the EVP of Nurture Marketing. The executive owns inbound and warm prospect conversations from qualification through close, using a solution-selling approach tailored to each prospect’s motivations and desired venture exposure. Relevant offerings may include syndicate deals, Alumni Funds, Focused Funds, and the Foundation Fund. The role prioritizes helping net-new prospects make their first AV investment while building trust and understanding that the Relationship Management team can carry forward. The executive will collaborate with Marketing and Nurture teams, contribute to call-quality and coaching practices, and use AI tools for research, preparation, and personalized follow-up while applying sound judgment. Alumni Ventures describes its culture as a five-day-a-week, in-office environment focused on collaboration, mentorship, and shared momentum. The company offers a flexible benefits program, and the anticipated annual base salary is $170,000–$180,000. Eligible employees may also receive incentive compensation, equity, and a corporate bonus, subject to applicable plans and programs. Employment is subject to passing a background check.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a closing sales role; financial services, investment products, or other high-consideration, relationship-driven sales experience is ideal.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust, sustain engagement, and guide nuanced phone conversations.
  • Ability to diagnose prospects’ needs, listen before recommending, and tailor an approach to differing motivations, investment experience, and buying signals.
  • Ability to adapt in real time when conversations take an unexpected direction.
  • Ability to learn and speak credibly about venture capital, fund structures, and portfolio construction, or demonstrated ability to quickly become fluent in complex products.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of prospect conversations while maintaining call quality, accurate documentation, and follow-through.
  • Comfort receiving specific coaching based on call recordings and performance data and applying the feedback.
  • Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM for pipeline management, call documentation, and follow-up.
  • Active use of AI tools for work, including prospect research, call preparation, and follow-up, with sound judgment applied to the results.
