About The Position

The Senior Investment Sales Executive plays a critical role in Alumni Ventures’ growth by converting prospective investors into first-time investors and laying the foundation for long-term relationships. Reporting to the EVP of Nurture Marketing within the Investor Conversion Pillar, this role owns inbound and warm prospect conversations from qualification through close. This is a solution-selling role focused on understanding each prospect’s motivations, goals, and desired venture exposure, then matching those needs with an appropriate Alumni Ventures offering. Options may include a syndicate deal, Alumni Fund, Focused Fund, or Foundation Fund. The immediate priority is zero-to-one conversion—helping net-new prospects make their first AV investment—while establishing trust and context for the Relationship Management team to carry forward. The position is based in Alumni Ventures’ five-day-a-week, in-office culture. The role also contributes to the growth of the Investor Conversion Pillar by supporting coaching, call-quality standards, and performance practices. Employees use AI tools to improve research, preparation, and follow-up while applying their own judgment.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a closing sales role.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust, sustain engagement, and guide nuanced conversations by phone.
  • Ability to diagnose prospect needs, listen before recommending, and adapt to different motivations, investment experience, and buying signals.
  • Ability to adapt in real time rather than relying on a prescribed script.
  • Ability to learn and speak credibly about venture capital, fund structures, and portfolio construction, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop fluency in complex products.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of prospect conversations while maintaining call quality, accurate documentation, and follow-through.
  • Comfort receiving specific coaching based on call recordings and performance data and applying that feedback.
  • Experience using HubSpot or a comparable CRM for pipeline management, call documentation, and follow-up.
  • Active use of AI tools to improve prospect research, call preparation, and follow-up, while applying independent judgment.

Nice To Haves
