About The Position

Mercury is seeking a seasoned credit and capital sales professional to grow its lending products by selling working capital products, including term loans and rolling lines, to established, high-value mid-market brands. The role focuses on companies generating $20M–$500M in annual revenue, beginning with high-quality ecommerce brands and potentially expanding into other industries. The Senior Account Executive builds a self-sourced pipeline, partners with founders and finance teams to understand their cash flow and capital needs, and works with underwriting to develop compelling, credit-sound offers. The position owns complex, often lengthy sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders, including founders, CFOs, existing lenders, underwriting, and Mercury’s executive team. It requires balancing growth ambitions with credit discipline and building internal consensus without compromising credit quality. The role also identifies opportunities to expand customer relationships into Mercury’s banking, credit card, and treasury products, and shares market and customer insights to inform working-capital underwriting and pricing. Mercury is a fintech company, not an FDIC-insured bank. Banking services are provided through Choice Financial Group and Column N.A., Members FDIC.

  • Comfort with credit fundamentals, including discussing cash flow, underwriting considerations, and deal structuring.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles requiring internal alignment with underwriting, credit committees, or leadership, as well as external persuasion.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-source pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, and relationship-building.
