About The Position

Quantinuum is seeking an experienced Semiconductor Trap Fabrication Scientist to develop highly scaled ion traps for its quantum computers. The role may be based at a Quantinuum site in Minneapolis, Minnesota, or at a supplier site in Malta, New York. The position involves participating in all stages of ion-trap development and manufacturing, including concept creation, design, layout, fabrication, packaging, and characterization. The scientist will develop designs and process flows for ion-trap features and components with integrated photonics, assess current and future trap requirements, and create or specify designs and processes to meet them. The role works closely with scientists, engineers, and technicians to turn system requirements and designs into functional hardware, supports third-party partnerships and supplier relationships, and contributes to long-range planning for future trap designs and processes. Applicants must be U.S. persons as defined in the posting. Applicants placed in safety-sensitive positions must undergo a pre-employment drug test. Quantinuum is a quantum computing company with more than 800 employees operating across the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, and Singapore. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no stated deadline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum.
  • Experience with chip-scale photonics or integrated optics/waveguides.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in MEMS or IC fabrication; master’s or Ph.D. study is inclusive of the experience requirement, as stated in the posting.
  • Must be a U.S. person: a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or person granted asylum or refugee status.
  • Applicants for placement in safety-sensitive positions must submit to a pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves
