About The Position

Lakeside Foods is hiring a seasonal Semi-Driver to support field operations by transporting raw production from fields to the plant safely and efficiently during harvest season, May through October. The role involves operating a yard tractor and/or semi-tractor, moving empty and loaded trailers, weighing trailers, and maintaining equipment. Drivers must follow traffic regulations and company safety, health, security, and operating policies, and report unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions to a supervisor.

Requirements

Valid Class A CDL license with a current required medical card.
Clean driving record.
Registration in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearing House.
Pass a pre-employment DOT drug screening; drivers are subject to random drug testing under FMCSA and DOT requirements.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
Ability to accurately complete routine reports, scale tickets, and correspondence.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

Inspect the yard tractor and/or semi-tractor and record the inspection on a daily log.
Take empty trailers to the field, have them loaded, and return full trailers of raw production to the plant.
Weigh and scale out full and empty raw product trailers.
Drive in accordance with all traffic regulations.
Back trailers into the truck dump as needed.
Load and unload trailers properly as needed.
Keep the semi-tractor and trailers clean and orderly.
Follow Lakeside Foods policies and procedures, including applicable safe practices and procedures and safety, health, and security policies.
Notify a supervisor immediately upon discovering unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions.
Perform other duties as assigned by Lakeside Management.
