About The Position

The Semi Driver operates a commercial motor vehicle to pick up raw materials while providing prompt and efficient customer service. The driver follows established routes, returns raw materials to the plant, and weighs materials at the plant and customer locations as needed. The role is responsible for safe vehicle operation, vehicle cleanliness and condition, required inspections and documentation, compliance with DOT hours-of-service requirements, and maintaining professional customer relations. Duties may be assigned or reassigned by management, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a current CDL Class A license and have a clean MVR.
• Be registered on the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Know how to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle and perform general maintenance.
• Work effectively with others in a team environment.
• Be dependable and reliable.

Nice To Haves

• Tanker endorsement.
• Two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Run established routes and pick up raw materials; weigh materials at the plant and customer locations as needed.
• Ensure loads are tarped before leaving the plant or a customer location, and maintain cleanliness at customer locations.
• Keep the company vehicle clean and take responsibility for it.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks and inspections; operate in compliance with applicable state, federal, and local regulations and company policies and procedures; observe company safety rules.
• Maintain excellent customer relations through a professional appearance and attitude.
• Complete required company paperwork, including route tickets, driver vehicle inspection reports, mileage reports, and service forms.
• Maintain and update the vehicle condition report daily.
• Track DOT hours of service using the onboard computer in accordance with company policy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
