About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a Security Systems Technician to troubleshoot, service, and repair commercial security and fire systems. The technician works independently from a remote location with the tools and equipment needed to perform the work. The role provides customers with service that resolves building inefficiencies and other service-related concerns, while advising customers and the customer care center about system status and inspection processes. As a trusted customer advisor, the technician recommends solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 3–4 years of experience installing and inspecting or repairing Tyco Integrated Security systems or a comparable product line.
Experience with card access, CCTV, and IP cameras.
HIRSCH Certificate.
Excellent communication skills.
Electrical or electronic background.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Fire alarm experience.
Some college.
NICET II or greater.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and resolve customer concerns related to security systems.
Repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, card access systems, and other security equipment.
Locate and resolve problems with damaged equipment or wiring.
Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test equipment for operation.
Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
Coordinate inspections and installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
Service and repair commercial security, fire alarm, CCTV, and card access systems.
Recommend solutions to help facilities operate efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
Provide quotes to support recommendations and proposed solutions.
Advise customers and the customer care center about system status and inspection processes.
