Fluidstack•Phoenix, IN
•$109,000 - $128,000

About The Position

Fluidstack is hiring a Security Systems Technician to maintain and support security systems and related infrastructure at data center campuses. The role covers cameras, badge readers, door controllers, intercoms, head-end servers, storage, and network switches, with a focus on identifying the root cause of failures before replacing hardware. The technician will repair on-site infrastructure, including cabling, drives, power supplies, DIMMs, NICs, optics, RAID sets, and hosts that fail to boot. The role also helps accept new data centers and expansions by inspecting completed work against acceptance criteria, supporting commissioning as needed, and maintaining accurate as-built documentation and device inventory. The technician works through an on-site remediation queue, completes device swaps, firmware updates and resets, and escorts and verifies outside technicians when necessary. They also maintain hardware used by guard forces, GSOC, and site operations, including badge printers, visitor kiosks, turnstiles, and vehicle gates.

Requirements

  • Experience maintaining security devices at data center scale, including cameras, readers, controllers, and intercoms.
  • Ability to terminate, test, and certify copper and fiber cabling, and maintain labels, as-builts, and inventory that match installed conditions.
  • Hands-on experience in a live data center or another critical facility, with the ability to resolve local issues independently and identify changes that should be flagged before implementation.
  • Ability to read drawings and punch lists, assess integrator work for completion, and hold contractors to specifications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot devices through the network switch, including PoE, link, port and VLAN configuration, and DHCP.
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows hosts, including imaging, patching, drive replacement, and recovery after a failed reboot.
  • Experience taking over work from an integrator, including documenting work that was not documented by the integrator.
  • Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments, including active construction areas, data halls, electrical and mechanical rooms, and outdoor spaces, with exposure to high or low temperatures, humidity, noise, or dust.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds independently.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and crouch for long periods, including full shifts on one's feet.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection, and follow site safety rules.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders and move around equipment, cable trays, and uneven surfaces.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise video management and access control platforms.
  • Familiarity with IP camera and access controller hardware.
  • Network fundamentals for device fleets, including PoE budgets, VLANs, and 802.1X.

  • Inspect new data centers and expansions against acceptance criteria before they enter support.
  • Assist with commissioning when required by the schedule.
  • Complete on-site remediation work within support-agreement response targets, including device swaps, firmware updates, resets, and service requests.
