About The Position

Allied Universal Services is hiring a Security Shift Supervisor to supervise and coordinate quality security services during an assigned shift at a customer site in Birmingham City Schools. The supervisor serves as a liaison among the site supervisor, Account Manager or Field Operations Manager, and professional security officers. The role includes supervising staff and providing coaching, recognition, and discipline within the approved empowerment range.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of security experience.
• Supervisor experience.
• Must be at least 21 years old, as stated in the hiring announcement.
• At least 18 years of age, as stated in the general qualifications.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with personnel at all levels and the general public.
• Ability to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines.
• Ability to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting.
• Ability to read and understand operating procedures and instructions.
• Intermediate computer skills to use wireless technology at client-specific sites.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Must successfully complete a background investigation and post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol test as a condition of employment; a driver-record check may also be required.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and may be required before employment.
• For driving positions: valid driver’s license, at least one year of driving experience, a clean driving record as specified, required minimum insurance, and ability to safely operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate security services on an assigned shift at a customer site.
• Serve as a liaison between the site supervisor, Account Manager or Field Operations Manager, and professional security officers.
• Supervise assigned staff and provide coaching, recognition, and discipline within the approved empowerment range.
• Handle common and crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service and communication.
