About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring seasonal Security Professionals for luxury retail stores located in Woodbury Commons, New York. The role is full-time and seasonal, with a $18-per-hour pay rate. Candidates should be flexible Monday through Sunday; the available shift is 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The Security Professional Flex Officer may use a shift-pickup platform to view and claim open shifts based on availability and may be called upon to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice. The position may provide site experience across industries and opportunities to gain hands-on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• Meet applicable licensing requirements, which may be required prior to employment under state or local laws and regulations.
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.
• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors.
• Ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write informatively, clearly, and accurately.
• Active listening and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy.
• Teamwork and attention to detail.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• No prior experience is required.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or Arabic.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or the presence of unauthorized persons.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure authorized removal of property complies with client requirements.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders.
