Security Officer Full Time Shipping Center
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer at a logistics and distribution location in Kansas City, Missouri. The officer will safeguard the site by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, managing visitor access, and maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents. The role includes routine patrols and professional communication with employees and visitors to support a welcoming and orderly environment. The scheduled shifts are Monday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The pay rate is $18.75 per hour. Applicants must meet the stated age and education requirements and may be subject to background and drug screenings. State or local licensing may be required before employment, and a valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21 years old.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while following site-specific access-control procedures and security policies.
- Monitor and control access by verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
- Assist with managing vehicle, driver, and delivery access at entry points, gates, and loading areas according to established procedures.
- Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, following emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, the business location, and perimeter.
