Security Officer Customer Service Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer to support a busy retail location in Troy, New York. The officer will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, assist customers and team members, and communicate with site personnel. The role uses computer or tablet tools to document activities and requires responding professionally to concerns. The schedule is Friday and Saturday, 10:30 AM–6:30 PM. Pay is $21.00 per hour. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements; a license may be required before employment.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience.

- A Guard Card or license.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, associates, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and carrying out emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of sales areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations calmly and follow site procedures, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
- Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations according to established procedures.
- Accurately document patrols, incidents, and observations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
