About The Position

As a Security Officer at a leading technology location in Syracuse, New York, you will welcome visitors, manage access control and badge processes, monitor entry activity, and provide customer service. You will maintain a visible, professional presence and support a secure environment through clear communication and attention to detail. The role is full-time, scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at a pay rate of $21.50 per hour.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles or at least 21 years old for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Nice To Haves

CPR and First Aid certification.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Access control and badge experience.
Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

Greet visitors, provide directions, and deliver customer service in accordance with site-specific policies.
Verify visitor identification, coordinate host notifications, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate entry records.
Monitor the front desk area, access-control systems, alarms, and communications equipment, and report unusual activity or security concerns.
Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, following established emergency response procedures.
Answer phones, receive deliveries, and communicate clearly with employees, visitors, contractors, and Allied Universal leadership.
