About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed patrol Security Officer for a utilities location in Akron, Ohio. The officer will help safeguard the site by conducting routine and random patrols, monitoring access points and restricted areas, and maintaining a visible presence to deter security-related incidents. The role also supports a welcoming environment through professional communication and customer service, and requires documenting observations using a computer or tablet.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at utility locations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations calmly, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and verify visitor and contractor authorization.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation.
• Report hazards, unusual conditions, equipment concerns, and policy violations to appropriate contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
