About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for patrol and observation at a government tourism location in Portland, Tennessee. The role provides a fixed, reliable weekly schedule at an assigned site, with a six-month commitment to the designated shift. Officers may claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with opportunities to increase their hours up to 40 per week and the option to scale back. The scheduled shifts are Friday and Saturday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license only if assigned to a driving position.
• Commit to the designated site and weekly anchor shift for six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while following site-specific procedures and carrying out security responsibilities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of public areas, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established policies; report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and potential hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations by following emergency response procedures and notifying appropriate contacts.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for incidents, patrols, and other security-related events.
