Security Officer - Flagship Corporate Office
About The Position
As an unarmed Security Officer at a retail and mall location in New York, NY, you will help safeguard clients and provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and employees. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and contribute to a welcoming environment through clear communication, teamwork, and integrity. The position is part-time, with scheduled shifts on Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Employment conditions include a background investigation and, where permitted by law, a drug screen. Licensing requirements may apply under state or local law. A valid driver's license is required only for driving positions.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
- A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by following security-related procedures and location-specific policies, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, using problem-solving skills.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location; report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports about incidents, observations, and daily activities while maintaining a professional presence.
