About The Position

DSI Security Services is hiring a part-time Flex / On-Call Security Officer in Woodcliff, New Jersey. This fill-in position provides coverage for employee call-outs, vacations, scheduled time off, open shifts, and other staffing needs. Hours and shifts vary according to operational requirements, and weekly hours are not guaranteed. Available shifts are 6:00 AM–2:00 PM, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and 10:00 PM–6:00 AM. The officer must be flexible and willing to accept assignments as needed, including short-notice assignments, and must have reliable transportation to travel to the assigned site. The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, their employees, and the public. The role calls for professionalism, attentiveness, a visible security presence, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service. Requirements

Must possess a valid New Jersey SORA card.
Must be at least 18 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Reliable transportation and a means of communication.
Basic to intermediate computer skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Able to conduct routine foot patrols, perform moderate lifting, and work in all weather conditions.
Must pass all required pre-employment screenings.
Reliable, punctual, dependable, and able to work independently.
Flexible with scheduling and willing to accept shifts as needed, including short-notice assignments.
Available for various shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends.
Professional, approachable, alert, attentive, and customer-service oriented.
Comfortable walking and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Provide security coverage for employee call-outs, vacations, scheduled time off, open shifts, and other staffing needs.

Conduct routine patrols and monitor assigned areas.
Observe, report, and respond to hazards, incidents, suspicious activity, and safety concerns.
Provide courteous and professional customer service to clients, visitors, employees, and the public.
Follow DSI policies, client requirements, site-specific procedures, and post-specific instructions.
Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time.
Participate in training and comply with DSI safety procedures and manuals.
