About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time, unarmed Security Officer for an enhanced patrol and property observation assignment in a healthcare setting in Detroit, Michigan. The position provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shift with a six-month commitment. The employee may also claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform, with the opportunity to increase hours up to 40 per week and adjust hours as needed. The scheduled shift is Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Pay is $18.35 per hour.

The Security Officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site policies, and emergency response activities. Duties include unarmed patrols, monitoring access points, assisting visitors, responding to incidents, and documenting and communicating relevant activity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while following security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in accordance with site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor direction, wayfinding, and facility access procedures.
• Accurately document incidents, observations, and patrol activities and communicate relevant information to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.
