Security Officer Full Time Entry Operations
About The Position
As a full-time Access Control Officer at a technology, media, and telecommunications location in Boise, Idaho, you will help safeguard the site by managing visitor entry, verifying credentials, issuing badges, and monitoring access points. You will provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and clients while supporting security operations through teamwork, integrity, reliability, and innovation. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks. The position pays $19.00 per hour. The scheduled shifts are Wednesday through Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age or older for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and regulations and may be required before employment.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A state-, county-, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access-control and badge experience is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, visitors, contractors, and employees while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Monitor and control site access by verifying credentials, authorizations, and visitor or contractor entry requirements.
- Maintain accurate access-control logs, visitor records, and incident documentation in accordance with site-specific procedures.
- Respond calmly to access-related incidents and critical situations, solve problems, and escalate concerns to appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized access.
