About The Position

MSC Security is hiring Security Officers for mobile patrol at a shopping center in Germantown, Maryland. Officers conduct walking and vehicular patrols, maintain shift activity logs, document incidents, and enforce customer rules professionally and courteously. The role requires punctuality, proper uniform, effective communication with the public, and the ability to assess emergencies and respond appropriately. The listed schedules are Monday through Thursday, 1:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. (36 hours), or Friday through Sunday, 1:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. (27 hours). Pay is $19.00 per hour. The posting describes the position as available full-time and part-time. Relocation and travel are not required. Requirements

Possess a valid, full (non-provisional) driver’s license.
Have an active Maryland State Police Guard Card.
Be at least 18 years old.
Have legal work status in the United States.
Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Pass a drug screening.
Have reliable, functional transportation; public transportation is not acceptable.
Own a cell phone for contact by Operations Supervisors.
Pass a criminal background check with no felony arrests or convictions.
Be able to perform duties described in post orders, which may include standing or walking for extended periods or lifting.
Be familiar with mobile technology such as tablets and smartphones.
Have effective oral and written communication skills and active listening skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain a daily log of activities during the assigned shift and at the assigned post.
Document all incidents during the assigned shift in detailed incident reports.
Conduct walking and vehicular patrols throughout the shift.
Enforce customer rules professionally and courteously.
Arrive on time and in proper uniform at the assigned post.
Interact and communicate with the public.
Assess and evaluate emergencies and identify critical issues, responding appropriately.
