About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for an access control role at a technology infrastructure location in Mesa, Arizona. The officer will help safeguard the site by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, assisting visitors, and addressing access-related concerns. The role involves maintaining a visible security presence, deterring incidents, communicating professionally, and helping create a welcoming environment. The schedule is overnight: Monday through Thursday and Sunday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Pay is $20.00 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements vary by state and/or local law and may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Alarm panel experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participating in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Control facility access by verifying identification, monitoring entry points, issuing visitor credentials, and maintaining accurate visitor and access records.
Monitor access control systems, cameras, alarms, and other site systems; report irregular activity, access issues, and equipment concerns according to site procedures.
Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as required.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, entrances, and restricted areas to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
