About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a medical facility lobby and patrol role in Brooklyn, New York. In this unarmed patrol position at an educational location, you will help provide a welcoming and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role involves visible patrols, customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of security concerns. The listed pay rate is $17.00 per hour. The schedule is Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM and Thursday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

Requirements

Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable law.
Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, campus-related concerns, and critical situations, communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access points and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns according to site-specific procedures.
Assist visitors by providing directions and information while maintaining a professional presence.
