Security Officer Medical Facility Area Patrol
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer to patrol a medical facility area in Brooklyn, New York, in an education setting. The officer will help safeguard students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring assigned areas, and supporting a welcoming environment. The role requires customer service, clear communication, and professional responses to security-related concerns. The position is scheduled for daytime hours from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The pay rate is $17.00 per hour. Applicants must hold a New York State Security Guard License, be at least 18 years old for this unarmed role, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is subject to a background investigation and drug screen, as permitted by law.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out security procedures and site-specific policies.
- Participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical events, access concerns, and critical situations, following established campus protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
- Monitor access points and support visitor management procedures, directing individuals to appropriate campus resources when needed.
- Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
