About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer to serve and safeguard clients at a utilities location in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves unarmed patrols, monitoring assigned areas, supporting access control, and helping deter security-related incidents. The officer provides customer service and clear communication while working with a team focused on integrity and reliability.

The schedule is Tuesday through Thursday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, and Sunday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM. The pay rate is $16.97 per hour.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; armed roles require applicants to be at least 21.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet any licensing requirements imposed by applicable state or local laws and regulations before employment, if required.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utility location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly, following established escalation and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted utility areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, contractor, and delivery activity.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicating observations and concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
