About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Security Officer for a government transportation location in Columbus, Ohio. The role supports security and visitor services by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, assisting with access control, and helping visitors professionally. The scheduled hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM. The pay rate is $20.08 per hour.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience.
Comfort using a computer or tablet.
Access control and badge experience.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, tenants, and staff by following security procedures and site-specific policies, and participate in emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying airport personnel or public-service agencies as directed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of airport facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
Monitor assigned areas for unauthorized access, unattended property, and other security concerns, and document observations and incidents according to site procedures.
Support access-control procedures and provide directions or assistance to the public while maintaining a professional presence.
