About The Position

Securitas is hiring a part-time Security Officer for Saturday and Sunday shifts from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. in Newton, Massachusetts, at a pay rate of $21.22 per hour. The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring and patrolling client premises, enforcing site regulations and directives, and assisting employees and visitors. The role includes responding to emergencies and providing professional customer service. No prior experience is necessary; training is provided.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have reliable transportation and communication.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Read, write, and speak English effectively.
Have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Hold a valid driver's license.
Have strong observational and problem-solving skills.
Remain calm and professional under pressure and handle emergency response.
Have excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and comprehension skills.
Follow instructions accurately, including complex job instructions.
Demonstrate ethical practices, responsibility, motivation, and commitment to safety protocols.
Have basic to intermediate computer skills and strong Microsoft Office application skills.

Responsibilities

Monitor security cameras and conduct patrols to identify suspicious activity, safety hazards, or unauthorized access.
Verify identification, issue visitor passes, and ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including medical situations and security threats.
Document and report incidents, observations, and security concerns accurately.
Conduct routine foot patrols of the facility, including entrances, exits, and surrounding areas.
Provide employees and visitors with assistance, directions, and support in a professional manner.
Identify and report potential safety risks, including fire hazards and unsafe conditions.
Address minor disturbances calmly and professionally to maintain order.
Collaborate with team members, site management, and emergency responders when necessary.
Enforce client-site regulations and directives relating to personnel, visitors, and the area.
