About The Position

This entry-level position provides daily cleaning of assigned facility areas according to a work schedule. Under close supervision from department supervisors or lead persons, the associate also responds to emergency cleaning requests, such as spills, and refills paper or chemical supplies. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, for 40 hours per week.

The associate follows a seven-step cleaning procedure: high dusting; dry mopping floors; damp wiping horizontal surfaces and spot-cleaning walls; cleaning bathrooms; emptying trash and replacing liners; wet mopping floors; and inspecting completed work. Scheduled work must be completed thoroughly by the end of each shift. The associate uses task-appropriate cleaning chemicals safely, moves furniture or beds and stocks supplies when requested, follows relevant Right to Know information and fire-safety procedures, and completes supervisor requests promptly and with a positive attitude.

Requirements

• English communication skills are required.
• No minimum education is required.
• No prior experience is required; this is an entry-level role, and skills may be learned on the job.
• No licensure, certification, or registration is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned facility areas using the seven-step cleaning procedure and self-inspect the work.
• Complete scheduled work thoroughly by the end of each shift.
• Use the appropriate cleaning chemical for each task and never mix chemicals or place them in an improperly labeled bottle.
• Respond to emergency cleaning requests within five minutes of receiving instructions.
• Move furniture, relocate beds, and stock supplies as requested by a supervisor.
• Follow pertinent Right to Know information and proper fire-safety response procedures.
• Complete supervisor-requested tasks in a timely manner and with a positive attitude.
• Refill paper or chemical supplies as needed.
