The Security Officer provides a visible, professional deterrent to crime at a grocery store in Rochester, New Hampshire. The primary post is the front entrance and exit, with periodic interior and exterior patrols. The officer supports Store Management and Asset Protection through observation, presence, and reporting—not enforcement—and follows their direction. The role also includes monitoring the premises, helping maintain a safe and secure environment, preserving order according to client-site regulations and directives, and providing customer service and information to employees and customers. Officers must remain polite and respectful, observe and report suspicious activity, and avoid arguing with or accusing customers. They may provide backup support when requested, assist when Management or Asset Protection asks someone to leave, and complete written incident reports according to agency procedures. They must not approach or question suspected shoplifters, detain, chase, block, touch, or use physical force against anyone. No weapons or restraints are permitted on the property. Personal and public safety take priority; officers must disengage if a situation escalates and contact Store Management, Asset Protection, or law enforcement as directed. A full agency-issued uniform with visible identification and insignia is required at all times; inclement-weather outerwear must match the uniform and display insignia. No experience is necessary. Securitas provides training, and applicants with retail, food service, or hospitality experience may be a good fit. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, with listed shifts Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour. The posting also mentions weekly pay, competitive benefits, and flexible schedules.
