The Grocery Store Security Officer provides a visible, professional deterrent to crime at a grocery store in Rochester, New Hampshire. The role supports Store Management and Asset Protection through observation, presence, and reporting, rather than enforcement. The primary post is the front entrance and exit, with periodic interior and exterior patrols, and the officer follows direction from Store Management or Asset Protection. The officer is expected to remain polite and respectful, observe and report suspicious activity, provide backup support when requested, assist when Management or Asset Protection asks individuals to leave, and complete written incident reports according to agency procedures. Officers must not approach or question suspected shoplifters, detain, chase, block, or touch anyone, or use physical force. Personal and public safety are the priorities; officers should disengage if a situation escalates and contact Store Management, Asset Protection, or law enforcement as directed. A full agency-issued uniform with visible identification and insignia is required at all times. Inclement-weather outerwear must match the uniform and display insignia. Weapons and restraints, including firearms, tasers, stun guns, batons, impact weapons, pepper spray, chemical agents, and handcuffs, are prohibited on Shaw’s / Star Market property. No experience is necessary. Securitas provides training; retail, food service, or hospitality experience may be a good fit. The position offers full-time or part-time schedules, with shifts available Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Starting pay is $21.00 per hour. The posting also mentions weekly pay, competitive benefits, and flexible schedules.
