About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access in Greer, South Carolina. The role provides a reliable assigned site and weekly anchor shift, with a six-month commitment, and the option to claim additional shifts through the company’s scheduling platform. Employees may work varying part-time hours and can build toward a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The position pays $14.40 per hour and lists a Saturday overnight shift from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

The officer provides customer service to port personnel, visitors, vendors, and drivers while implementing access-control procedures, site policies, and appropriate emergency responses. The role involves monitoring access points, verifying credentials, maintaining access records, controlling vehicle and pedestrian access to restricted facilities, responding to incidents, and conducting patrols of assigned access points and surrounding areas.

Applicants must be at least 18 for unarmed roles or 21 for armed roles, and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on applicable background and drug screening. State or local licensing may be required. A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable law.
• Submit to a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.
• Have a valid driver’s license if applying for a driving position.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to port personnel, visitors, vendors, and drivers by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor access records, and direct authorized individuals to designated areas.
• Control vehicle and pedestrian access to restricted port facilities, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Respond calmly to incidents and critical situations, promptly notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, surrounding grounds, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
