About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for a front desk reception and access control role in Austin, Texas. The position serves clients in the technology, media, and telecommunications industry. The officer welcomes visitors, supports access control and badge processes, monitors security-related systems, and responds to alarms or incidents while providing customer service and clear communication in a professional environment. The role is scheduled Thursday and Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and pays $25.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements may apply under state or local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and vendors at a front desk, following site-specific policies and security procedures.
Monitor access to the building or designated areas by greeting visitors, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
Monitor front desk activity and report unusual activity, hazards, and security concerns to site leadership or Allied Universal management.
Support daily operations by answering phones, receiving deliveries, issuing access credentials when authorized, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
