About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an Unarmed Enhanced Part Time Security Officer for an assigned site in University City, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The role primarily involves access control at an academic building on a leading university campus. The position offers a designated weekly anchor shift that requires a six-month commitment, with the option to claim additional shifts through the company scheduling platform. Additional shifts may allow hours to vary from part-time to as many as 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back. The listed pay rate is $17.25 per hour. The scheduled shift is Saturday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable law.
• Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Meet applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus partners while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; document observations and actions according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, academic and residence areas, parking locations, and surrounding perimeter areas to identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and support access-control procedures by verifying credentials or visitor authorization as directed by site policy.
• Communicate with campus personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal supervision about incidents, maintenance concerns, and other security-related matters.
