About The Position

Securitas is hiring multiple Day Shift Security Officers to help keep a government client's site safe in the Montpelier, Vermont area. The positions are temporary, beginning in January 2027 and running until May 2027. When the contract ends, Securitas may assist employees in finding other sites for ongoing work. No security experience is required; training is provided. Candidates should specify whether they are interested in the full-time or part-time schedule.

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring premises, patrolling locations, preserving order, and enforcing site regulations and directives. Officers may also provide customer service and information to client employees and visitors.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including comfort with frequent interactions with the public.
• High level of professionalism.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Vermont Guard Card; the hiring team will assist with applying for the license after hire.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Retail, food service, or hospitality industry background is described as a good fit, but is not required.
• No security experience is required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service with professionalism.
• Observe and report activity in and near the property, identifying and responding to potential threats or safety hazards.
• Conduct hourly foot patrols of the property.
• Operate a walk-through metal detector and X-ray baggage scanner.
• Conduct screenings with a handheld wand detector.
• Actively monitor premises and preserve order while enforcing client-site regulations and directives.
• Provide customer service and information to client employees and customers.
