About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location in Syracuse, New York. The officer will help safeguard the site by monitoring and patrolling assigned areas, maintaining a visible presence, and providing customer service and clear communication. The role supports a professional environment through observation, routine patrols, and timely reporting. The posted schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The pay rate is $23.44 per hour. Applicants are subject to a background investigation and drug screening, as permitted by law. Licensing may be required under state or local regulations.

Requirements

At least six months of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, depending on state and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, applicants, and staff by following site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and appropriate emergency response activities.
Monitor entrances, public waiting areas, hearing rooms, and surrounding areas for unusual activity, and report security concerns to site contacts or appropriate personnel.
Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, disruptive behavior, and critical situations, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, public areas, offices, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify maintenance or security concerns.
Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and visitor or access records as required by site procedures.
