About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Security Officer for an access-control role at a manufacturing and industrial location in Sparrows Point, Maryland. The officer helps manage entry points, verify access, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols to deter incidents. The role provides customer service and clear communication while supporting a professional environment. The position pays $18.03 per hour and is scheduled Monday through Thursday and Saturday, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The site has limited on-site facilities, including portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.

Requirements

At least 6 months of security-related experience.
At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Applicants are subject to a background investigation, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing may be required before employment, subject to state and local laws and regulations.
A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and drivers by following site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency-response activities.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and document access activity according to site requirements.
Control access for deliveries, vendors, and contractors entering industrial operations areas while maintaining required records and communications.
Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, notifying appropriate site contacts or emergency responders.
Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
