Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Incident Response
About The Position
The Security Officer will serve and safeguard clients at a manufacturing and industrial location in Newport News, Virginia. The role involves unarmed patrols, maintaining a visible security presence, observing and reporting conditions, and interacting professionally with employees, visitors, and vendors while providing customer service. The officer follows site-specific policies and procedures and responds to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and emergencies according to established protocols. This is a full-time position paying $18.00 per hour. The posted schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old for an unarmed role.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Submit to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Submit to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements; licensing may be required before employment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
- Respond calmly to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations, following site procedures and escalation protocols.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility and production areas, warehouse spaces, parking areas, loading docks, and the perimeter.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and maintain accurate security logs and incident reports.
- Assist with enforcing site rules, report maintenance or operational concerns, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and client contacts.
