Security Officer Building Access Control
About The Position
Allied Universal is hiring a full-time, unarmed Security Officer for building access control at a retail location in Costa Mesa, California. The officer will help safeguard clients, employees, visitors, and shoppers by maintaining a visible presence, monitoring access points, and patrolling assigned areas. The role emphasizes customer service, professional communication, and responding to security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures and policies. The position is listed as a swing shift and pays $23.49 per hour. The posted schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
- Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Meet applicable state and/or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, employees, and visitors by following site-specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of retail sales areas, entrances, stockrooms, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
- Identify and report unusual conditions and policy concerns.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations, following established site procedures.
- Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location.
- Report suspicious behavior, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
- Communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
