About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Officer for an aerospace and defense location in San Diego, California. The position provides a designated site and fixed weekly anchor shifts requiring a six-month commitment. The scheduled shifts are Tuesday and Wednesday, 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Officers may claim additional shifts through the scheduling platform, with the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week and adjust their hours as needed. The pay rate is $19.00 per hour.

The officer provides customer service while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities. Duties include monitoring access points, verifying credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor records, conducting patrols, deterring unauthorized access, documenting observations, and notifying relevant site contacts and Allied Universal leadership about incidents or concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles or 21 or older for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation as a condition of employment, in accordance with applicable laws.
• Undergo a drug screen as a condition of employment, to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities.
• Monitor access-control points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor records, and follow procedures for restricted areas.
• Respond calmly to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations, and promptly notify appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around access points, business areas, and the perimeter; document observations and report security-related concerns.
• Deter unauthorized access by following established entry, exit, visitor-management, and material-control procedures.
